Offered here is an exceptional documented example of Thomas Kinkade’s Gardens Beyond Spring Gate – Spring Gate III, published in 1998.
This is Artist Proof Canvas #7 of 1,190, a desirable single-digit edition number, presented in a substantial ornate gold-tone frame with linen liner and original brass title plaque.
The original Certificate of Limitation & Authenticity accompanies the artwork and identifies this exact piece as #7/1190 A/P Canvas, size 25.5” × 34”.
MASTER APPRENTICE HIGHLIGHTED
This specific artwork was additionally hand-highlighted by a Thomas Kinkade Master Apprentice on November 25, 2000. The original Thomas Kinkade Master Apprentice highlighting certificate is included and identifies the artwork and certificate number as 7/1190 AP.
The additional highlighting is visible throughout the canvas and gives areas of the image added texture and dimension.
PROVENANCE & DOCUMENTATION
Included with the artwork are the original Certificate of Limitation & Authenticity, separate Master Apprentice hand-highlighting certificate, and original Thomas Kinkade Gallery, Placerville, California invoice documenting the artwork as A/P #7.
The reverse of the canvas retains its ARTIST PROOF marking and original Lightpost Publishing / DNA Technologies authenticity plaque.
The publisher’s COA states that Kinkade’s authorized security signature was mechanically applied using a registered Auto Pen signature device and DNA-encoded ink. This listing therefore does not represent the authorized Kinkade signature as personally hand-signed.
CONDITION
The artwork presents beautifully from the front, with strong color and extensive visible texture/highlighting. The ornate gold-tone frame and linen liner present very well overall, with normal signs of age/use consistent with a large framed work from 1998. Please examine all photographs closely for exact condition.
This is an especially well-documented example combining the large 25.5” × 34” format, Artist Proof edition, single-digit #7, documented Master Apprentice hand-highlighting, original COA, original highlighting certificate, original gallery invoice and period framing.
EXCEPTIONAL DOCUMENTATION & ENHANCEMENT
The reverse of the canvas is factory marked ARTIST PROOF and bears its original Lightpost Publishing production/QC label and authenticity hardware. The stretcher is dated NOV 16 1999 and states that the canvas was hand highlighted by skilled artisans under Thomas Kinkade’s supervision. Most importantly, this exact #7/1190 A/P was subsequently additionally hand-highlighted by a Thomas Kinkade Master Apprentice on November 25, 2000, documented by the accompanying original Master Apprentice certificate.
