This volume is undated, but appears to date to approximately c.1780 based on the printing, typography, engraved illustrations and London publisher information. The title page lists numerous London booksellers and publishers, including Payne, Rivington, Davis, Longman, Dodsley, White, Law, Robson, Johnson, Nichols, Murray and others.
Features an attractive engraved frontispiece opposite the title page, along with an engraved portrait vignette on the title page. The text retains its original old-style typography and numbered Spectator essays.
Period binding with leather spine, raised-band styling, gilt rules, red leather “SPECTATOR” title label, and marbled paper-covered boards.
Condition: Approximately 240+ years old and showing some age-related wear. Please review all photographs carefully for binding and interior condition.
