Right off the bat I have to say I don\'t know a lot about binoculars, other than using them in the backyard. These are two fairly old pairs--- I think they are from the 1950\'s or earlier. Both are made in Germany, one is a little bit on the large size, the other is much smaller. The big one says Hartmann Optik of Wetzlar #117, Leichtmetall Porlerim 12x50. The smaller one us a Carl Zeiss Jena, Sportur 6x24.
The Hartmann is in Very Good Cosmetic Condition with a few minor spots of paint wear and a few nicks to the black enamel here and there. There\'s also one spot where a piece of the faux leather is gone. The glass is Excellent---- Very Clean with just a few minute specs of dust--- but they don\'t seem to usably affect the view. The focus knob and other moving parts are all excellent--- the focus is smooth and easy.I don\'t know what all the nuances are, but what is here, looks to be in great shape. So I would call it Very CLEAN overall!The Zeiss is NOT in Good Shape. It is complete with no dents, but corrosion and other reasons have made the focus stuck and there\'s a lot of visible corrosion in various places all around. The paint and leather is also worn in spots. The lens glass is semi-decent though, although a bit foggy. So this one is in need of repair/restoration or use it for parts.
The two cases are in very good condition, except the should strap on the small one is broken. So there you have it--- one nice, one not too nice. Please don\'t expect them to be better than they are. What you see is what you\'ll get--- please study the pictures.
