Artist: Olaf Carl Wieghorst (1899-1988) was an internationally recognized Danish-American painter known for his depictions of the American West, including cowboys, horses, and Native American subjects. He spent much of his life on horseback (including serving in the U.S. Cavalry along the Mexican border and working as a ranch hand in Arizona and New Mexico) where his personal experiences influenced his authentic portrayals of Western life.
