Signed 1950s Zuni Sterling Multi-Stone Mosaic Inlay Owl Bolo Tie Bennett Clasp For Sale

Exquisite and rare piece of 1950s southwestern jewelry. A vintage Zuni mosaic inlay owl bolo tie, featuring a sterling silver slide with hand-stamped edges and an owl design crafted from multi-stone inlays of mother-of-pearl, turquoise, coral, and shell and onyx. Hand braided leather cord with silver tassel ends. Signed by artist on back bottom area of pendant. The clasp on the back itself is stamped “Bennett Pat. Pending”, which refers to Homer Bennett’s patented clasp used on mid 20th century Southwestern and Native American made sterling silver bolo ties. “Patent pending” markings on the Bennett clasp generally point to an era around 1950 to 1960 prior to the final patent approval.
