Set of seven vintage Armenian pottery mugs, hand thrown and hand painted at the Karakashian family's Jerusalem Pottery studio on the Via Dolorosa in the Old City, circa 1970s-1980s. The Karakashians were among the Kutahya artisans brought to Jerusalem in 1919 to restore the Dome of the Rock tiles, and the Old City studio continues the family tradition today. Each base is hand signed Jerusalem Old City with a painter's monogram (pictured).
Motifs include a standing deer, a running camel (or deer?), two flying birds, paired fish, a floral wreath medallion, and a daisy band with sawtooth border.
Condition: Overall good for age. Some minor wear, please review images for detailed condition.
