This is a string-bound portfolio of photographs ofSan Diego from around 1898. The photographshave a beautiful sepia tone and lots of detail.
There are 24 pages of photographs plus the pictorial cover.Each print is mounted onto thick textured cream paper by its corners. The page measures12.5 x 10inches (32 x24.5 cm). The full-page photos measure approximately7.5 x5.5 inches (19 x 14 cm).
Produced by the Albertype Company as a set of mechanical photogravure prints. It is undated, but based on similar books in my collection, and the presence of only horse-drawn carriages, it appears to be from the 1890s.
