Beautiful antique Roseville Pottery Creamware vase in the Persian decoration, dating to the early 20th century. This unusually tall form features a broad circular foot rising into a dramatically elongated tapered neck and bulbous upper section with a rolled mouth. The warm ivory Creamware body is decorated with stylized hand-painted blue botanical leaves outlined in dark brown/black around the shoulder and base, accented by fine cobalt blue details and a soft powder-blue band encircling the upper portion. Roseville introduced its Creamware line around 1910 and produced numerous factory decorations, including the documented Persian pattern. Many pieces from the Creamware line were left unmarked, as is this example. The unusual approximately 9-inch-tall form gives the piece excellent architectural presence and makes it a particularly attractive example of early Roseville art pottery.
