Expert ChemicalRestoration Process Used:
This set underwent a highly meticulous, non-abrasive electrochemicalrestoration to reverse decades of severe, blackened tarnish without strippingthe original silver plating or dulling the fine details:
1.ElectrochemicalBath: Each piece was completely submerged in a boiling water and bakingsoda solution within a basin lined meticulously with aluminum foil. Thisscientific method draws the sulfur atoms away from the silver tarnish andtransfers them onto the foil via a natural chemical reaction, safely cleaningdeep within the pattern engravings.
2.HandPolishing: The process was carefully finished byhand-polishing using premium Hope\'sSilver Polish to bring out an exceptional, brilliant mirror shine across allthree external bodies.
Condition Report& Honest Flaws:
- Exterior: Brilliant, ultra-bright mirror finish. The delicate engraved lines remain incredibly crisp and deep. There are zero major dents, deep gouges, or severe plate loss on the main outer displays.
- Minor Vintage Imperfections: Expected light surface micro-scratches, tiny handling marks, and minor pinprick pitting specks consistent with a 150+ year old antique. A tiny dark blemish is located on the slope of the coffee pot lid near the hinge line.
- Interiors: The interior chambers are left unrestored in their natural antique state, displaying expected dark oxidation, historical mineral sediment scaling, and safe, faint white powder traces from the baking soda bath.
- The set displays extremely well, however up-close you can still see some tarnish and maybe a few spots that could use another round of polish. Other than that it took over a week to complete the entire process and looks fantastic.
