Original vintage 1984 ERTL Airwolf helicopter, based on the iconic aircraft from the classic television series.

This is the large approximately 15-inch ERTL version — not the much smaller Airwolf die-cast toy and not a plastic model kit.

Large original examples of this Airwolf toy are considerably harder to find, particularly examples that remain this complete and structurally intact.

This is the large-format 15-inch ERTL Airwolf, which is significantly less common than the smaller Airwolf toys frequently encountered on the secondary market.

Its large size, television connection, distinctive black-and-white Airwolf appearance, and surviving original components make it an especially desirable piece for:

Finding a loose example with the major structural pieces, rotors, landing gear, weapon assemblies, and original graphics still present is increasingly difficult.

The large top rotor is manually operated.

It has been tested and rotates freely and smoothly by hand.

There is no powered or spring-loaded rotor mechanism.

The original rear tail rotor is present.

It rotates freely and is securely attached.

There are no visible cracks around the tail rotor hub.

All three landing wheels are present.

Each wheel has been checked and rolls freely.

The landing gear assemblies are firmly attached and support the helicopter correctly.

Both black side weapon assemblies are present.

The weapons and barrels appear complete and undamaged.

These weapon assemblies are fixed in position by design and are not intended to pivot, retract, or move.

The cockpit, nose, fuselage, and weapon areas are fixed in place.

There are no opening cockpit or body-panel features on this toy by design.

This Airwolf is in excellent overall vintage condition considering its age and the size/fragility of the toy.

The helicopter remains structurally solid and presents very impressively.

Visible age-related wear includes:

• Light surface scuffs and scratches on the black finish
• Some edge wear/lifting to the original Airwolf decals
• Wear to portions of the wolf graphic decals
• Small areas of black paint/finish loss
• Some paint wear along the vertical tail fin
• Minor oxidation/discoloration on exposed metal pins and fasteners
• Light marks on the white underside
• Light age/play wear to the rotor blades
• Other small marks consistent with a surviving vintage 1984 toy

Importantly, the helicopter does not show the type of major structural damage often encountered on large vintage toys.

The main rotor, tail rotor, landing gear, weapon assemblies, tail structure, and primary body sections remain intact.
