A wonderful heavy quality French solid silver vanity box with ruby thumb piece and engraved depiction of a leaping sheep or deer on the cover. The silver is matt finished and highly stylistic. I can see only some French silver control marks but no makers mark. AI attributed the design to Puiforcat or Tetard Freres with the quality certainly fitting of both workshops. Mirror detaches with its mount and has been weighed excluding this part. A really lovely stylish piece.Dimensions: 8.2 x 5.5 x 1.2cm
