Who the Heck am I?
I was the lead writer on the BMW USA advertising account from 1995 to 1999. I wrote and produced over 120 ads for BMW while working at their ad agency, Fallon McElligott.
I wrote and produced this ad for the E36 M3 back in 1997.
BMW wanted to let people know that they could get an M3 right off the lot that’s substantially similar to the M3 race cars.
The photo of Bill Auberlen (the driver in the helmet) and many of the smaller inset photos were all taken when the art director and a great photographer and myself all attended Testing Week at the 1997 24 Hours of Daytona. A pretty cool experience.
Exclusive Original Print
This is not some flimsy tear-sheet you see all over and elsewhere — this is an Exclusive Ad Agency Original Print that was beautifully printed on thick, high-quality coated paper stock back in 1997 by BMW's ad agency at the time, Fallon McElligott.
It's never been used or sold to the public. It's from my collection that has been carefully stored in my flat-file drawers since 1997, and this print is in MINT condition.
