These dual-purpose agricultural and clearing tools are highly sought after by tool collectors and Civil War historians alike.​Markings & Dating Features:​Blade Stamp: Clearly stamped directly into the steel blade with bold capital letters: "HENRY DISSTON" and a partial, legible "PHILADA." The absence of "& Son" or "& Sons" dates this piece firmly between 1840 and 1865.​Hardware: Features three original brass split-nut (slotted-nut) cutlery fasteners, correct for this early manufacturing period. No medallion was used on this model.​Condition Report:​Steel Blade: Shows an honest, dark aged patina with widespread staining and light-to-moderate pitting consistent with a 160+ year old tool.
