A rare and striking Chinese export porcelain blue and white deep plate dating circa 1790. It is delicately painted with a central scene of the Dutch folly fort in Canton harbor surrounded by small boats. In the background is the shoreline of Canton with a temple and tower. In the foreground are two small islands connected by a bridge. The borders are very detailed with floral elements, geometric devices and butterflies. The detail work on this plate is just outstanding. The plate has a notched rim. The plate measures 9 1/2\" in diameter and is 1 3/8 \" deep at the rim. It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. This dish is a real show piece!
