RARE Vintage Clairol Dream Machine 1970s (Possibly 1960s) Psychedelic Kinetic Light Show Machine
Own an authentic and rare piece of history that mixes art and technology! The technology for this motorized light display, which casts colorful, mesmerizing light patterns across walls and ceilings, apparently was developed by French avant-garde artist Nicolas Schoffer in the mid-1960s, who sold the patent to Clairol, which then produced a limited run of these machines. This particular machine was unearthed from an elderly friend's basement and is in excellent working condition, as seen in the listing video and photos. This YouTube video by someone else who owned a different one of the same type shows the inner workings of the Dream (TO REITERATE, THE ONE IN THE LINKED YOUTUBE VIDEO IS NOT MY MACHINE; THE VIDEO HERE IN THE LISTING SHOWS THE ONE I AM SELLING).
Measurements: About 10.6" wide, 9.4" high, 7.9" deep. Weighs about 7.5 pounds.
Includes power cord.
The bottom of the stand has wear, as clearly shown in one the photos. There is no instruction manual, original box, or other original materials except for the power cord.
This machine works perfectly after multiple tests and will be very carefully packaged and shipped to avoid any damage, with added insurance purchased. You accept that you are buying it as is, and that no returns for any reason will be accepted. In the unlikely event that the machine gets damaged during shipping, you would have to submit an insurance claim to the UPS.
Will be shipped direct delivery only with signature required via UPS Ground. That means you must be present for the delivery and sign for it; it will not be rerouted or left with a neighbor.
