2 complete sets of 1920’s J.M. Carpenter 1/4-24 Tap sets. J.M. Carpenter Tap & Die Company was established in Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1870.
The company name was absorbed by Latrobe-Pawtucket Co. in 1936.
As shown in the pics, these taps are marked with the J.M. Carpenter brand, which pre-dates 1936.The obsolete 1/4”-24 thread was widely used in production for Model T & Model A Fords, as well as early firearms, sewing machines, etc.These taps appear to be unused, original new old stock.
