The 2006-08 period was an important stretch for the Crows. Adelaide finished second after the 2006 home-and-away season with a 16-6 record, defeated Fremantle in the qualifying final, and reached the preliminary final before losing to West Coast. Simon Goodwin, Andrew McLeod and Nathan Bassett were named All-Australian in 2006. McLeod won his third Malcolm Blight Medal in 2007 and was also named captain of the All-Australian team, while Nathan Bock won the Crows\' Club Champion award and was named All-Australian in 2008. Adelaide finished fifth in the 2008 home-and-away season and reached the finals for a fourth consecutive year, eventually losing to Collingwood in the elimination final.
