RARE ORIGINAL QUEEN “A NIGHT AT THE OPERA” 1976 ELEKTRA PROMOTIONAL POSTEROffered here is an original vintage Queen “A Night at the Opera” Elektra Records promotional poster, measuring approximately 36" x 22".This is an exceptionally scarce piece of 1970s Queen promotional memorabilia, with a fascinating history behind it.THE HISTORY — A PROMOTIONAL POSTER THAT WAS QUICKLY PULLEDThis particular promotional poster was used to promote Queen’s A Night at the Opera and was displayed at Tower Records.According to the documented history of this poster, it was put on display at Tower Records and pulled only a few days later. The promotional campaign was subsequently withdrawn, and the posters were reportedly destroyed.Because so many of the original posters were removed and destroyed, very few surviving examples are known today.The unusual history of this poster is a major part of what makes it such an interesting collectible. This isn't simply a vintage Queen album poster—it is a rare surviving example of a promotional piece that had an extremely short public display period before being withdrawn.DOCUMENTED RARITY & SALES HISTORYWhile researching this particular poster, I was able to locate two significant sales of original examples:February 2026: A comparable original example sold recently. That example was in worse overall condition than the poster offered here.2018: An earlier example was sold, and the information accompanying that sale stated that only two other known examples existed at that time. That provides an indication of just how scarce this poster already was several years ago.With so few documented examples and sales appearing only occasionally, original examples of this poster are extremely difficult to find.CONDITIONThis is an original vintage poster with substantial age and previous display/storage wear. The reverse has old tape and adhesive from its previous mounting/display.
