EXTREMELY UNUSUAL NINTENDO-LABELED TOSHIBA MD9DL1 CRT TV/DVD COMBO. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION.

Vintage Toshiba MD9DL1 9-inch CRT TV/DVD combination unit manufactured in October 2001. What makes this particular example especially interesting is the original vintage Nintendo sticker still attached to the side of the cabinet. The label specifically identifies this exact unit as “9” TV/DVD MD9DL1” and carries the Nintendo logo, barcode, and Nintendo DOTS phone number [phone removed by ].

This is not simply a random Nintendo sticker added for decoration. That same phone number has been documented on historical Nintendo retail-display material as a Nintendo Display Hotline, making it very possible that this TV was originally associated with a Nintendo retail display, demonstration setup, kiosk, or similar promotional use. The exact history and original application of this particular unit are unknown, so it is being sold strictly based on what is physically present and shown in the photos.

I have searched extensively for another Toshiba MD9DL1 carrying this Nintendo identification label and have been unable to locate another example like this. Regular MD9DL1 televisions do exist, but the Nintendo-marked version appears to be exceptionally obscure. This could be a very interesting piece for a serious Nintendo, World of Nintendo, retail display, kiosk, CRT, or video game memorabilia collection.

The CRT television itself has been tested and is working. It was tested through the front composite AV input with a video game system as shown in the photos, and the picture and sound work.

IMPORTANT CONDITION: The built-in DVD player does NOT properly play discs. The DVD tray opens and closes, but the player does not successfully play a DVD. Please purchase with the understanding that the DVD portion is not working.

The cabinet has scratches, scuffs, marks, discoloration and other cosmetic wear from age and use. Please study all photos closely, particularly the close-up photographs of the exterior condition and the original Nintendo sticker.

This is a Toshiba-manufactured television with a vintage Nintendo identification/display sticker; it is not being represented as a television manufactured by Nintendo. The precise history of the Nintendo connection is unknown.
