Hoya \'Tequila Sunrise\' (also designated MB-1280): Bred by Mike Bernardo, it is a cross between Hoya nicholsoniae and Hoya \'Golden Eye\' (which is an erythrina x incrassata hybrid)
Hoya \'Tequila Sunrise\' in comparison withthe regular sunrise: Features much larger, broader, glossy, and harder leaves that can grow up to 8 inches (20 cm) long.
Venation and Texture:
.Hoya \'Tequila Sunrise\': Exhibits heavy, prominent, almost 3D dark venation and occasional silver flecking/splash\' on glossy, prominently veined leaves that develop a stunning red hue when provided with plenty of sun. The flowers are soft yellow, fading to red at the tips, resembling the colors of the famous tequila sunrise cocktail.
There are a few very well established plants in the pot that keeps pushing out new leaves on internodes. There are a few plants in the hanging basket with the longest vine being 21\" by 8\" wide. Largest leaf is 4\" long. It takes a mature hoya 2-4 years before they bloom. Be one of the first to own such a beautiful specimen that is not finicky. I have her in my dining room that gets the bright eastern light without a humidifier. Does well in an indoor household conditions. Place in a bright room and can take direct morning sunlight, pot in an aroid mix and water when the top inch or 2 of soil feels dry.
