RARE Antique 1892-1907 T&V Limoges HandPainted Chamberstick Candle Holder 5.25\" For Sale

The product is a rare antique 1892-1907 T&V Limoges hand-painted chamberstick candle holder made of porcelain. It features a white color with silver accents and is in the Art Deco style. This original piece originates from France and is produced by Tressemanes & Vogt (T & V) Limoges. The candle holder is 5.25 inches in height and does not have significant chips, cracks, or flaws, as shown in the images provided.
Oh wow! Sometimes when we go to Estate Sales, we choose items simply because they are unique and pretty. This is one of those items. It comes from a historic Lafayette Square home in St. Louis MO. It has clear markings on the bottom which identify it as a piece produced by Tressemanes & Vogt in Limoges France. Because of the type of mark, it is absolutely a piece from 1892-1907 and was likely completed in Limoges France as a \"blank\" as was decorated later by an unknown artist. This artist was skillful as the silver painting is incredible on the outside of this piece. This piece is known as a Chamber Stick.The Metropolitan Museum of Art notes that “The chamberstick was made to move. Its form followed its purpose: The socket held the candle. The pan caught wax... The handle provided a secure place” for carrying it through the home.\"
One of the best side benefits of \"re-homing\" beautiful pieces is to learn about the makers and purposes of those same pieces. One day, I might learn about an antique heavy glass Glasco Urinal from the 1940s. Today, I learned about a Chamber Stick. This piece is undoubtedly the more beautiful of the two. I have searched through Terapeak and Worthpoint and have not found one that matches. I believe this is an lovely piece of yesteryear and I only wish it could talk.
