Stong, published by Brewer and Warren.Written during Prohibition, this wonderfully entertaining “handbook of polite drinking” contains vintage cocktail recipes, party advice, food pairings, illustrations, and humorous commentary about drinking in the Volstead era. This is the original 1930 publication—not the modern reprint.The book remains readable and the interior pages are generally clean for their age. The inside rear cover contains a handwritten recipe for a “Frozen Lemonade Cocktail,” along with a previous owner’s name or notation on the facing page.CONDITION:This is a well-used, approximately 96-year-old book in acceptable vintage condition. The cloth-covered boards show considerable staining, discoloration, rubbing, scratches, scuffs, residue, edge wear, and areas of surface loss. There is writing inside the rear cover and on the rear endpaper. No dust jacket is present. Pages show expected age toning and occasional marks.
