EXTREMELY RARE 1901 Hardcover Book THEODORE ROOSEVELT \'PATRIOT & STATESMAN\'

Illustrated 1st Edition- in fact this book was not reprinted after 1901. There is a less highly decorated version of this same book out there with a plain cover which would have been available for customers at a much lower price point at the time.

\'Patriot And Statesman- The True Story Of An Ideal American\' is the penultimate definitive biography of Roosevelt

510 pages with a hard canvas-backed red cover and embossed lettering on the front and spine. Front board has a genuine sepia toned b/w oval inset photo of Roosevelt in his military uniform circa 1898

Cover is also lavishly illustrated with a sword, and eagle wing, an American Eagle, and laurel wreaths.

Inside the front and back covers are beautiful tan papers covered with cream-colored leaves. This was a VERY deluxe book for its time.

There is no publisher listed anywhere throughout the book, only the Author\'s name and year published. This was also true on the only other copy I\'ve seen of this book.

This is an EXTREMELY RARE edition that is almost NEVER available.

For a scholar or hobbyist of the topic of the Roosevelt or US Presidents, this book in its original form is a fabulous repository of knowledge and an amazing artifact. Highly collectible.

Good condition, all outer canvas corners are frayed and bare, inner spine cover is cracked on front and back as you open the book, but the cloth threads of the binding are holding everything in place- quite secure, tightly bound, and no loose or floating pages. There is a small loose piece of frayed canvas at bottom of spine.Cover photo of Roosevelt has some rub wear to lower left. Darkish ink or paint stain on back cover and on front over Eagle\'s head. Minor.Remarkably good condition inside, clean throughout, no damage or pencil/pen marks, no creased or bent pages, no missing pages. See all pics and use zoom, worn areas are all photographed in detail.

A very handsome example of this title in collectible condition without excessive wear. Important , scarce edition. Presents well on the shelf. Would make a wonderful gift for a collector or scholar!
