Founded in 1867, Scotia Seminary holds incredible historical significance as one of the first historically Black higher education institutions for African American women established after the Civil War (later becoming Barber-Scotia College). This early 1900s monochrome printed view captures the beautiful brick architecture, central portico entrance, and distinctive cupola tower of the campus grounds.
