Son of Philip I, Philip I/ was appointed Caesar at just seven years old in AD 244 and then Augustus in AD 247. Unfortunately, he died when he was only twelve when his father was killed by Decius' army in AD 249. His death is debated, historians arguing he was killed either on the field alongside his father or back in Rome by the Praetorian Guard.
