Rare Peter Paul Rubens Etching by Wenceslaus Hollar
Offered is a beautifully presented antique etching engraved by the renowned Wenceslaus Hollar (1607–1677) after a composition by the great Flemish master Sir Peter Paul Rubens (1577–1640).
The work depicts Three Leopards and Two Boys, one of Rubens\' fascinating animal studies translated into print by Hollar around 1645.
The engraving retains excellent detail throughout and is presented in an elegant custom museum-style frame with linen matting, making it ready for immediate display.
The plate is signed within the image:
• P.P. Rubens pinxit (Rubens painted it)
• W. Hollar fecit (Hollar engraved it)
Included is the original Certificate of Authenticity identifying the engraving and confirming its attribution.
