Pair of Antique Jugendstil/Art Nouveau Bronze Metal Vases w/Cupids c.1900
Description: This beautiful pair of vases was made in the late 1890s - early 1900s in the Art Nouveau style. They come to me from Germany, but they could be French or Belgian as well.
It is large and heavy, with the body decorated with floral elements and Cupids. Very elegant and stylish sculptured work of art!
The vases are made of a metal alloy called spelter - a special kind of metal alloy very popular in the late 1800s - early 1900s for its casting abilities. It is patinated to imitate bronze with some gold highlights.
The vases are mounted on marble pedestals with metal feet. They stay 12" tall.
Excellent condition with some very minimal age-related wear.
Please note - this is not a replica or fake - the is the real object from 1890 - early 1900s. I guarantee my dating.
