This is a fine mid-19th century Ottoman-period tinned copper pouring vessel, featuringMamluk style hand-engraved floral, geometric and animal motifs. The vessel showcases traditional Islamic metalwork,with intricate decorative patterns, including stylized animals and floral designs. The surfaceretains traces of its original tin lining, which was used to prevent oxidation and enhancedurability.
With a long, slightly curved spout which serves as a handle and wide bowl, this piece was likelyused for pouring water, milk, olive oil or ceremonial liquids, making it a functional yet highly decorativeartifact. The craftsmanship reflects the rich tradition of metal artisans working in Cairo and Anatolia, renowned for their fine copper ware during the Ottoman period.
