This listing is for an original "The New AT&T" 3G Mini-SIM (2FF) from the historic transition period between Cingular Wireless and the new AT&T.
Although printed with the "3G" logo, this is the same physical Mini-SIM format used in the early GSM era, including the original Apple iPhone (1st Generation).
The original iPhone was introduced on January 9, 2007, and released on June 29, 2007, exclusively on the AT&T network. While the iPhone itself only supports GSM/EDGE (2G), many customers activated and used their first-generation iPhones with these same AT&T "3G" branded Mini-SIM cards because they remained fully compatible with GSM devices.
This SIM card represents an authentic piece of the transition from Cingular Wireless to AT&T and an important period in the history of Apple's first iPhone and GSM mobile communications in the United States.
