Marianne had purchased a one-of-a-kind original photograph in blackand white from an antique store in New Mexico which became the basis for thepainting; the photograph measured only 3X4 inches. From this small photograph Mariannecreated the large oil painting, adding her own creative interpretation, colorsand details. She visited Acoma Pueblo many times over the years; itis an ancient and spiritual place.
