One vintage Durgin (Gorham) Colfax sterling silver dinner knife 9 1/8\" with mono For Sale

Buy one, two, or up to 6 of these vintage hollow-handle dinner knives in the Colfax pattern by Durgin, a company known in the late 19thcentury and early 20thcentury as one of the finest producers of sterling flatware in America. Around 1905, Durgin became a division of the Gorham Silver Manufacturing Company, and eventually the Durgin patterns were simply marked “Gorham.” The Colfax pattern was introduced in 1922 and features a classically elegant design with bellflowers framed by a decorative border. It has the same shape as the simpler and very popular Fairfax pattern, also by Durgin/Gorham, and coordinates well with it.

These knives are in very good, gently used condition. They are marked “sterling handle pat\'d,” plus the Durgin hallmark. The blades are marked “stainless,” and all but one of these knives have a monogram. I\'m not sure what the letter is, perhaps a V.
