Interestingantique Old Master-style oil painting on wood panel, depicting a lively figural scene afterPeter Paul Rubens (1577–1640).
The painting and wooden panel show considerable age, wear and patina. The reverse has darkened wood, visible grain, scratches and other signs of age.
Exact age and artist are unknown.I have not had the painting professionally authenticated or dated. It is being offered as anantique painting after Rubens, possibly an artist’s study, period copy, workshop-style work, or later interpretation.
I donot know whether it could be an original work/study by Rubens, his studio, or from his period, Further research and examination by an Old Master specialist may be worthwhile.
