Rare All-White Variant & Deming, NM History:
While standard No. 101 sets contained common solid red, yellow, and green animals, this is the highly sought-afterall-white vinyl variant run. This set contains 20 farm animals molded in clean, stark white vinyl—intended either to represent pure breeds (like white sheep) or to be hand-painted by children at home. Because nearly every kid opened these to paint them, finding a deadstock set that remains completely unpainted and factory-bright is incredibly rare.
The box proudly carries theDeming, New Mexicomanufacturing text, dating this specific set to Auburn's iconic final production era in the 1960s after moving their historic toy division out of Indiana. Because this set has remained sealed for roughly 60 years, the colorful graphics on the cardboard packaging are remarkably well-preserved, and the internal vinyl animals have never been exposed to playwear, sunlight, or dust.
