Thispretty #4 Blonde Ponytail Barbie has a bit of an attitude! I think she knows what she wants, & how to get it;) She is a beauty with sweet mohair ringlet bangs, and a ponytail that was professionally reset into the original style with a hard curl at the bottom.Herfire engine red lips had some wear, so they have been retouched with artist\'s water-based acrylic paint, her brows were also retouched, and she was given a hint of blush too. Since she\'s been retouched, she isn\'t for \"Mint\"collectors, but she displays beautifully & needs no apologies! She is in Excellent condition and comes in a 35th anniversary repro box with some original accessories: original vintage cats eye sunglasses, black and white swimsuit, and pink Barbie & Ken fashion booklet. Her other accessories are repro black mules and repro plastic pedestal stand!Everything here is original Mattel except for the repro box, black mules, and stand. She doesn\'t have any nose nips, neck splits, or green ear stains. Her body is in Excellent condition with tight joints and no finger chews.
I have collected vintage Barbie for over 30 years, and I scrutinize the items I sell on . Please note the Kaiser doll stand shown in a couple pics is not included in this sale.Barbie\'s hair has full rows of soft mohair ringlet bangs. Her ponytail hair was retied into the original style with a hard curl at the bottom. She has a few fly-away hairs, but the hair set looks very nice.She has a cute, slightly wider face mold than some of the #4 dolls that I see. Her matte complexion is very peachy creamy in color, with no darkening from smoke or molds, and no \"greasiness\". I think she would look great in any of the more classic vintage fashions, like Apple Print Sheath or Commuter Set! Her fire engine red lips had some rubbing and were retouched, as were her brows. She was also given a hint of blush, which gives her a vibrant look. She has some original smokey gray eye shadow, but the auto lighting for \'s pics washes it out a bit. She doesn\'t have any green ear stains and never has been treated for green ear. No nose nips, or neck splits. She wears replacement pearl earrings with plastic posts that will never discolor her head. I use the auto lighting feature for most these pics.
Barbie\'s Excellent condition solid vinyl body looks like it is marked Barbie MCMLVIII TM Japan on her right butt cheek; I think it\'s a TM, though it\'s hard to see, as the mark seems longer than the R marking. The number on her left cheek is a B58, see pic #20. She has subtle horizontal mold markings at the front/top of her right leg, and at the back top of her left leg; these are typical for the #4 solid vinyl dolls. Her arms and legs hold all poses, and she has all of her nail polish, all fingers and toes,and no finger chews, seepics #18 & #19. Her body is very evenly colored, and I don\'t notice any stains anywhere. I only notice 2 very small things; she has a tiny green speck just above her left big toe, see pic #22 ; it\'s smaller than the head of a pin. She has a tiny poke mark/hole on her left middle back, see pic #21; this is also much smaller than the head of a pin. I didn\'t notice this for quite awhile.
Barbie\'s original black/white swimsuit is in Very Goodshape without any holes or tears; the swimsuit looks slightly aged in color. The tops elastic has aged; it will stay up on Barbie, but it\'s definitely 66 years old! There\'s a small bit of a ravel in the suit\'s left butt area fabric (see pic #21), but you won\'t notice it unless you look extremely closely. She wears 35th Anniversary reproduction black mules. Her original cats eye sunglasses have good arms and lenses, and are in Excellent shape. Her pink Barbie & Ken booklet looks very nice; it doesn\'t have any tears or writing on it, only slight wrinkling on the back cover. It still has the paper insert for Barbie Sings! records. Her clear plastic 35th Anniversary stand is new, I took it out of the original bag for the photo.
Barbie\'s 35th Anniversary Reproduction Box is in great shape; it is marked BRUNETTE on the bottom of the lid, but still gives this girl a toy store fresh look!
