Montblanc \"Meisterstuck\" 146 fountain pen, black, a mid-size model within the Meisterstuck line reintroduced in the 1970s. Glossy black body with gold-tone clip and ring, and the white star emblem on the cap top. 14K gold bicolor nib with a silver-toned center, fine (F) nib width; this bicolor nib style became common on the 146 from the late 1980s into the early 1990s. This particular pen is from the 1990s and uses what collectors refer to as a \"Hemingway-style\" feed, the same general type used on the first Writers Series Hemingway pen (this pen\'s feed was not transplanted from a Hemingway pen; the two share this feed type due to similar production era). During the 1990s, the 146 transitioned from the earlier ebonite feed to several generations of resin feeds, and this example reflects that era\'s specification. Ink is filled via a piston mechanism, drawing directly from bottled ink; no cartridges or converters are used.
