What can you say about Minor Threat? I remember the 80s, when we all had \"both albums\" (or, more likely, cassettes):Minor Threat (we all had the blue pressing for some reason) and Out of Step. Later we\'d get the Complete Discography on CD, and then you could just put that on and play the whole enchilada, no skips, every song a gem. The whole \"straight edge\" thing never really caught on in Boston (land of $hitty beers like Sam Adams). We did have Slapshot and a few others, but none of them could stop us from getting loaded and blasting these tunes, doubtless some of the greatest in the hardcore/punk rock pantheon. The influence runs deep, obviously, so when it comes to rocking a shirt, you don\'t wanna default to some crappy print-on-demand piece of trash. So here we have a classic Tultex, so soft that I can\'t even put it into words. Tultex was basically the last time, with rare exceptions (American Apparel being one) when they actually made tees that you\'d actually want to wear: form-fitting and cottony-soft, with the future \"factored in\"--the anticipation that it would break-in perfectly. This is the tee that you scoop up off of the floor on a sunny Sunday afternoon, on your way to get avocado toast; it works just as well as it did at the club the night before. And the artwork is classic: that iconic shot of the band on the front porch of their DC home where they all lived and wrote such great songs. This very house, by the way, is immortalized in dope documentary called \"Another State of Mind,\' by Adam Small and Peter Stuart (YouTube it immediately if you haven\'t seen it). Minor Threat were a major part of the punk \"network\" back in the 80s, and whenever other punk acts were touring through the east coast, they were always welcome to crash at the house (if they drank, which most of them did, they were made to do so on this very porch, never in the house itself: just a bit of trivia for ya). Regardless, I typically havesome iteration of this tee in my collection, but they always sell out, and now I\'m down to just this one. And it fits me--as you can see--like a fever dream. I\'ll happily wear it to the dive bar, drinking merrily and engaging in all manner of untoward behavior, but that\'s my business, not Ian\'s. But I\'ll keep it on ice for now, though, I promise. I don\'t want to sully it in any way. It\'s simply too sweet. Beloved band, iconic artwork. Minorly, threateningly dope.
