This is the style Mil Máscaras wore in the film that teamed him with Blue Demon and El Santo against the reanimated mummies of Guanajuato. The movie (officially Las Momias de Guanajuato, widely known as Santo contra las momias de Guanajuato) was released in 1972, directed by Federico Curiel, and became the highest-grossing Mexican wrestler film of all time. Blue Demon and Mil Máscaras carry most of the action; Santo appears later as special guest. It remains a cult favorite of the golden-age luchador-horror genre.

Aarón Rodríguez Arellano (born July 15, 1942, San Luis Potosí) is one of the “Big Three” of lucha libre alongside El Santo and Blue Demon. He debuted in the mid-1960s and became known as “The Man of a Thousand Masks” for constantly changing designs while keeping a recognizable silhouette. He was the first masked wrestler to compete in Madison Square Garden (1972), helped popularize lucha libre in the United States and Japan, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012. He starred in roughly 20 films and is famous for his athleticism and plancha. His brothers are Dos Caras and Sicodélico; Alberto Del Rio is his nephew.
