Mein Kampf, 1939 1st American Impression, Unabridge, Book Club Insert, Reynal & For Sale

This listing pertains to what seems to be commonly identified as a 1st American edition, 1st impression of Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler. The book was published by Reynal & Hitchcock by arrangement with Houghton Mifflin Company. It is dated 1939 on the title page. This edition includes a rather informative Book-of-the-Month Club insert identifying several individuals in a committee sponsoring the publication of the book and explaining the reasons for its publishing. Some of the individuals named in the Committee included Pearl Buck, Albert Einstein, Theodore Roosevelt Jr., Walter White, and Rabbi Stephen S. Wise. One of the photos included lists all the names. The insert includes a Review by Dorothy Thompson. The insert consists of 13 pages of text total.
The book has some obvious water damage to the exterior. The water damage had a very minimal impact on the interior. There is some bleeding of the red cover onto the front interior edge of the end paper. There is also a slight pink tone at the binding seam inside the back cover. There is some fading to the spine. There\'s a name of former owner inked inside the front cover. The interior pages are otherwise clean and in good shape. Please see photos and feel free to ask questions.
