Most vitamin C serums use L-Ascorbic Acid dissolved in water. It works but it is unstable. It oxidizes quickly, turning orange in the bottle, and at effective concentrations it commonly causes tingling, redness, and irritation. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a different form of vitamin C that is dissolved in oil instead of water.
Oil-soluble vitamin C is inherently more stable so it does not degrade or oxidize. It penetrates the lipid-rich skin barrier more effectively than water-based alternatives. And at 7% it delivers meaningful brightening and antioxidant protection without the irritation that stops people using vitamin C consistently. Lipid Vitamin C
Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate at 7% dissolved in jojoba oil. Penetrates the skin barrier via the lipid pathway rather than the aqueous pathway. More bioavailable. More stable. Converts to active vitamin C directly inside the skin cell where it is needed rather than on the surface.
Vitamin E

Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil is technically a liquid wax that closely mimics the skin's own sebum. Non-comedogenic. Absorbs cleanly without a greasy residue. Provides the lipid vehicle that makes the oil-soluble vitamin C more effective than water-based alternatives.

How to Use
Apply 3 to 4 drops to cleansed face and neck every morning before SPF. Because the formula is oil-based it layers well under moisturiser and SPF without pilling. Apply before any water-based serums or after depending on your routine preference.
Can be used alongside Crystal Retinal at night as part of the Medik8 CSA routine. Apply vitamin C every morning and vitamin A every evening for the complete age-defying protocol recommended by Medik8.
