Vintage Marvel Comics production printing material for The Avengers #2 (1963), featuring the classic 22-page story “The Avengers Battle… The Space Phantom.”

This lot contains 21 large-format black-and-white production sheets/flats reproducing interior story pages from Avengers #2. The original published story was written by Stan Lee with pencils by Jack Kirby, inks by Paul Reinman and lettering by Artie Simek. The original production job number X-435 is visible on the opening splash sheet.

Avengers #2 is an important early Silver Age Marvel issue featuring the first appearance of the Space Phantom and the story in which the Hulk leaves the Avengers. Characters appearing throughout the material include Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Giant-Man/Ant-Man, Wasp and the Space Phantom.
