Modern reproduction of the famous Mark Antony and Cleopatra portrait denarius, traditionally dated to around 32 BC and associated with Alexandria, Egypt.
One side features the bare-headed portrait of Mark Antony with an Armenian tiara behind him and the legend ANTONI ARMENIA DEVICTA, commemorating Antony’s claimed victory over Armenia. The opposite side depicts Cleopatra VII, Queen of Egypt, wearing a diadem, with the legend CLEOPATRAE REGINAE REGVM FILIORVM REGVM.
This type is especially desirable historically because it places Mark Antony and Cleopatra together on the same coin, during the final years of the Roman Republic shortly before their defeat by Octavian.
