Handcrafted in his Ulm studio during the 1960's, this plaque features a stunningly stylized modernist owl motif..The piece combines striking structural forms with a thick vibrant "fat lava" textured glaze. The rich turquoise body contrasts beautifully with earth-toned browns and greens, separated by sharp, raised ridges using the studio's iconic "bridge technique".The front features the rare, original gold foil paper script signature label intact in the bottom left corner. The reverse is fully stamped with the debossed studio hallmark: schaffenacker/ ulm/do / Made in Germany / handgeformt.Model number hand incised with the catalog mold sequence N65.Sturdy, built in wire on reverse side for easy hanging.Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
