This is a lovely vintage 14K white gold ballerina ring, size 5 1/2, set with diamonds surrounding a beautiful blue sapphire, just back from GIA, and included with the sale is the report, #1242061980, no heat, verified.
The ring is classic, wearable in a sophisticated manner - understated luxury, a statement in quality and vintage appeal. The design of the ballerina ring has agreat backstory, the setting was meant to suggest the motion of a tutu worn on a ballerina, and was created by Oscar Heyman - much information on line about this style! Note: only true ballerina rings are set where the diamonds mimic the motion of a tutu!
The sapphire measures 6.42 - 6.60 x 4.53mm, somewhere in the neighborhood of approximately 1.25+ carats, the diamonds, high clean and bright and estimated at over a carat, though none of the gems were removed to give exact values of weight.
4.07 grams, size 5.5, with a registration number inside the ring, "16627" likely the designer was numbering this piece to later identify.
Beautiful and would make a lovely gift. Natural blue sapphires, with no heat treatment arebecoming very rare!
