Lot of 8 Medaka, Red King Glitter Japanese Rice Fish, Easy Aquarium/Pond Fish For Sale

You are buying a group of 8 red king glitter medaka. This variety is also called red emperor. I make sure all groups have both males and females. Red king/emperor medaka are orange with abundant glitter/lame. Lame  (ラメ) are shiny, glittering scales scattered across the medaka. 

My red king line is a cross between an imported red king lame, red emperor RLF, and sunrise halfmoon.

Medaka are:

-Very peaceful. They can be kept with any tank mates that aren't large enough to eat them.

-Adaptable. Medaka tolerate a wide range of water conditions from soft, acidic water to hard, alkaline water

-Extremely Hardy. Rice fish can be kept indoors or outdoors at anywhere from 33-104 F (1-40 C). Aeration should be provided when water temperatures are above 84 F (29 C)

-Compact and Adorable. Medaka grow to a maximum of 1.5 inches

Medaka, Japanese rice fish (Oryzias latipes), are hardy, colorful fish that have been kept as pets in Japan for hundreds of years. Medaka are very peaceful and are great for nano tanks, planted tanks, community aquariums, and ponds. Medaka are hardy like goldfish and are traditionally kept in small ceramic pots and patio ponds in Japan without heating or filtration. I keep them outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9b. My water temperatures get into the low 40s in the winter and the mid 90s in the summer. Water pH and hardness are not critical and medaka can thrive in a wide range of water conditions from fresh to brackish. Medaka aren't picky and will eat most foods including flake, pellet, frozen, and live foods.

Medaka grow to 1.5” and females lay 10-20 eggs per day during the breeding season from May to August. Eggs take 7-14 days to hatch depending on temperature. Females will carry fertilized eggs around before depositing them on plants like water hyacinth and java moss. Medaka can lay eggs on spawning mops or spawning beds made from yarn or scrubbing pads.

I breed all the medaka out here in Fresno, CA. I pack fish in breather bags with ammonia/nitrite/nitrate neutralizer, Seachem Stress Guard, and ammonia-absorbing granules.
