Late 19th of early 20th century Japanese patinated bronze duck sculpture. For Sale

Beautifully detailed lost-wax bronze goose/duck with a rich patina. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Japanese metalworkers produced an array of finely chased animal figures destined for the Western export market. These decorative bronzes combined naturalistic observation with stylized plumage, reflecting the heightened global appreciation for Asian artistry during the Meiji period and subsequent decades. This piece came from my father to me. He owned it since the late 1970's.
