This is in good condition, the top of of the paperback cover is a little creased (see the photo) and the spine has some wrinkling. I wrote a lot of notes in this book in PENCIL (NOT ink). There are 15 different maps detailing the extent of Charlemagne\'s empire and itineraries, and there are several family trees detailing Charlemagne\'s lineage, but many of his family members who were of his same generation but were not his siblings (especially the women) are not shown on these family trees, so a lot of my notes were around making sense of the maps and how Charlemagne\'s familial contemporaries were related to him. I am leaving my bookmark sticky notes (see photos) in as well--these bookmarks make it easy to find 1) maps, 2) family trees, 3) notes on illustrations (each chapter opens with some photo from or relating to the 700-800 Carolingian empire), 4) footnotes for each chapter, and 5) bibliography. I took a whole class on Charlemagne, this was not an easy read, but it was very rewarding!If you don\'t like the notes I\'ve written and/or the sticky notes, very easy to erase and/or remove :)
