Beautiful vintage Japanese art bookplate depicting an elegantly dressed woman in an elaborate kimono featuring intricate floral and geometric patterns.
The artwork is believed to be Peacock, attributed to Japanese ukiyo-e artist Nishimura Shigenaga (c. 1697–1756). The exact title and attribution have not been independently verified.
This bookplate was taken from Ukiyo-e: 250 Years of Japanese Art, featuring text by Roni Neuer and Herbert Libertson and introductory and biographical passages by Susugu Yoshida. First American Edition, published by Mayflower Books, New York, copyright © 1978 by Mondadori-Shueisha.
