Both hardcover volumes are fine. The dust jackets are very good, with a noticeable splotch of paint on the spine of the aircraft volume. The illustrated slipcase has visible wear but remains structurally sound. The set displays well.
Two large-format illustrated reference volumes, housed together in the original slipcase. The ships volume surveys wartime vessels, while the aircraft volume covers the combat aircraft of World War II; both draw on the detailed photographs, drawings, and technical information associated with Jane’s directories.
These 1989 editions bring Jane’s earlier wartime reference material together in a matched set. The publisher’s note in the ships volume explains that its entries were updated to account for information unavailable during the war.
