For sale is an exceptionally rare, exhibition-sized Postmodern Raku studio art pottery seed jar vase by the acclaimed Sedona, Arizona master ceramicist Michael Weinberg (1953–2016). While the vast majority of Weinberg’s vessels are small accent pieces, this massive, architectural flying-saucer form measures an impressive 13 inches wide by 5 inches tall, making it a spectacular statement piece for Mid-Century Modern, Southwestern, or Postmodern interiors.

The piece beautifully highlights Weinberg's signature mastery of the volatile Raku firing technique. It features a wide matte pastel-blue band contrasting against natural blush-pink and sandy tones, detailed with dramatic, chaotic gray-black smoke markings and carbon splashes trailing over the shoulders.

Condition:

Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or restorations. The dramatic dark markings, mottling, and smoky trails are entirely intentional effects from the reduction firing process.
