Beautiful large framed display featuring an original antique Gregorian chant manuscript leaf with Latin liturgical text and traditional square-note musical notation on four-line red staves.
Hand-lettered on genuine animal skin vellum (parchment), the leaf includes decorative illuminated initials in red and blue, rubricated Latin text, and a detailed hand-painted floral margin embellishment ("Inclina domine...").
Framing & Hanging Display:
Frame: Ornate carved dark wood frame with double-sided glass allowing both sides of the manuscript leaf to be viewed.
Hanging Hardware: Includes the attached decorative hanging chains previously used to suspend the piece. (Note: Ceiling hooks are not included).
Good antique condition. The natural vellum shows characteristic waviness (cockling) and light edge aging consistent with authentic historical parchment. Inks and hand-painted pigments remain clear and vivid.
